The challenge

CommonSpirit Health (an alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health), is the largest nonprofit health system in the U.S. They sought a wellbeing partner and platform that could help them provide benefits for multiple audiences, including CommonSpirit partners MercyOne and Centura Health. Their goals were to:

  • Capture and retain patients within CommonSpirit Health’s physician enterprise.
  • Build an employee resource hub promoting mental health and EAP resources for Centura Health.
  • Develop a reseller model to expand patient acquisition for MercyOne, further improving the health of local communities while also driving revenue.

Strategies, solutions, and results

Working directly alongside CommonSpirit Health to fully understand their needs and goals, Navigate’s dedicated healthcare account support team configured a platform that met CommonSpirit Health’s goals.

Creating patient loyalty and growing CommonSpirit Health’s physician enterprise. This project solved unique needs for them, ones that arose from unique California laws around physician access. To account for this, Navigate and CommonSpirit Health developed a new Dominican hospital physician enterprise with opportunities for health systems to direct patients to in-network providers.

With an easy-to-use platform and multiple communication touchpoints, this solution:

  • Builds the physician enterprise presence within local communities.
  • Engages and retains—patients within system networks.
  • Supports the growth and retention of Physician Enterprise members and drives health system demand.

All told, this process helps close the continuum of care and encourages patients to stay within the CommonSpirit Health system—which also helps them proactively care for their health, as disengaged patients are three times as likely to have unmet medical needs and twice as likely to delay medical care.

For Centura Health, Navigate created an intuitive, tailored wellbeing hub with easy access to mental health and EAP resources. In the first eight months of 2021 alone, click throughs to those resources surpassed all of 2020! To learn more, review our full Centura Health case study.

Navigate also worked with MercyOne to develop a reseller solution that engaged local community employers. At program launch, 10% of employer/community users had never used the prior wellbeing services—and three years following launch, that same 10% started using the platform and generated $7M in new revenue for MercyOne.

Navigate and CommonSpirit Health continue to partner, drive growth, and create new revenue opportunities.

My favorite things about working with Navigate are the people, their passion, and how much fun they have.
