Job description

The Project Manager will manage key initiatives and projects within Navigate. Responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget, and within scope. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of assigned projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and measure and monitor the progress of projects. The position will regularly report to the executive team regarding the status of projects and the project portfolio.

The successful candidate will work directly with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. The candidate also will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and coordinate resources.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, 2-5 years of experience in project management, and have a familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. A PMP certification and experience in the health and wellbeing space are a plus. The ideal candidate will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, perform a variety of tasks in shepherding projects, roll their sleeves up to get work done on their own when it is called for, but primarily direct the work of others.

A wide degree of independence and latitude is expected. The Project Manager will report to the Chief Technology Officer and be the first hire of Navigate’s burgeoning Project Management Office.

Key responsibilities

All duties are performed in support of the newly formed Project Management Office and at the direction of the Chief Technology Officer.

  • Coordinate internal resources and third party or vendor resources for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate issues as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with stakeholders to clarify specific requirements of each project.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Meet budgetary and resource objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on analysis.
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills.
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps, and other documentation as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience required

  • Proven experience in project management including: developing and tracking resource budgets, coaching, management, process improvement, planning, and business process development.
  • Excellent client-facing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking.
  • A healthy blend of big-picture thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
